By the Summer of 1862, the Confederacy teetered on the brink of collapse.
In the East, the reinforced Army of Northern Virginia, commanded by General
Robert E. Lee for only a few short weeks, was charged with the last-ditch
defence of the Confederate natonal capital at Richmond. Union General Gearge
McClellan's powerful Army of the Potomac lurked thriumphantly only a short
distance away. In a stunning campaign - the famed "Seven Days" - Lee pressed
the Union army back in a string of battles, beginning at Beaver Dam Creek and
Gaines' Mill; and ending at Glendale and Malvern Hill. Richmond was saved and
the war went on. Can you change history and succeed where McClellan failed and
end the war by defeating Lee and capturing Richmond? Or, as the Confederate
commander, will you destroy the invading Union army and force the North to
sue for peace?
