be the sentiment of the entire Mexican population before the war ended. America was in
an expensionist frame of mind, and Mexico controlled large portions of the continent
in the West. In addition of the fulfillment of manifest destiny this war served as a
training ground for many of the Americanīs leaders prior to the Civil War. The clashes
